Pre-school
The Pre- School opened in January 2017 within the grounds of Curry Mallet Primary School. We are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:40am-3:20pm in term time for children aged 2, 3 and 4 years olds. Early Years Entitlement Funding is available for eligible 2 year olds and for all children the term after their 3rd birthday.
The following sessions will be available to parents;
- 08:40am-12noon – Morning session
- 12:00pm-3:20pm – Afternoon session
- 08:40am – 3:20pm – All day
Preschool 2026
What a wonderfully busy and creative time we've had at Preschool!
Our preschoolers have been exploring nature through lots of hands-on fun. We have been enjoying the story of Owl Babies and lots of discussions have been had about birds and their nests. Why do they have nests? Where are their nests? What are their nests made from?
The children were tasked with making their own nest for the owl and her babies, by collecting sticks, feathers, moss and other natural materials to create their very own cosy nest for the owl babies.
We have enjoyed bird seed gluing, where the children created beautiful, textured pictures and we got a little messy making our very own bird seed fat balls to help feed our feathered friends.
Once they were ready, we carefully hung the seed balls around the school grounds, turning our outdoor space into a mini haven for birds!
The creativity didn't stop there - the children also designed and made fantastic owl masks, showing off their imagination and artistic skills.
